Industrial Heap Bioleaching of Copper Sulfide Ore Started with Only Water Irrigation

چکیده

Sulfuric acid solution containing ferric iron is the extractant for industrial heap bioleaching of copper sulfides. To start a plant, sulfuric usually added to irrigation maintain adequate acidity (pH 1.0–2.0) dissolution. An practice secondary sulfide ore that began with only water without addition was successfully implemented and introduced in this manuscript. The mineral composition their behavior related production consumption during heaps analyzed. This indicated possibility self-generating exogenous addition. After proving by batches laboratory tests, measures were promote oxidation throughout acidifying stages, from pH 7.0 1.0, thus produced especially pyrite oxidation. heaps, adapted microbial consortium inoculated established leaching system. launch finally expansion realized acid, showing great efficiency under low operation costs.

Dynamic of active microorganisms inhabiting a bioleaching industrial heap of low‐grade copper sulfide ore monitored by real‐time PCR and oligonucleotide prokaryotic acidophile microarray

The bioleaching of metal sulfide has developed into a very important industrial process and understanding the microbial dynamic is key to advancing commercial bioleaching operations. Here we report the first quantitative description of the dynamic of active communities in an industrial bioleaching heap. Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans was the most abundant during the first part of the leaching c...

Optimization of parameters affecting recovery of copper from Sarcheshmeh low-grade sulfide ore using Bioleaching

In this work, the parameters affecting the recovery of copper from the low-grade sulfide minerals of Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine were studied. A low-grade sulfide ore was used with a copper grade of 0.25%, which was about 28% of the mineral oxide, and the sulfide minerals made up the rest. Much more sulfide minerals were found to be pyrite and most of the gangue minerals were quartz, anorthite, bio...

Bioleaching of Low Grade Manganese Ore with Penicillium citrinum

A native microorganism, Penicillium citrinum was isolated from the top soil of a manganese mine. Based on its efficiency for manganese solubilisation, it was utilized for the leaching of a low-grade manganese ore. The effects of various parameters such as pulp density, particle size, sucrose concentration, inoculum size and bioleaching duration on manganese ore were studied. The optimised condi...

A New Heterotrophic Strain for Bioleaching of Low Grade Complex Copper Ore

A new heterotrophic strain, named Providencia sp. JAT-1, was isolated and used in bioleaching of low-grade complex copper ore. The strain uses sodium citrate as a carbon source and urea as a nitrogen source to produce ammonia. The optimal growth condition of the strain is 30 ̋C, initial pH 8, sodium citrate 10 g/L and urea 20 g/L, under which the cell density and ammonia concentration in the me...

Copper Bioleaching in Chile

Chile has a great tradition of producing and exporting copper. Over the last several decades, it has become the first producer on an international level. Its copper reserves are also the most important on the planet. However, after years of mineral exploitation, the ease of extracting copper oxides and ore copper content has diminished. To keep the production level high, the introduction of new...
